Applying for a Year 7 place at Colonel Frank Seely School
You will know on “National Offer Day” (1 March 2017) whether or not your child has a place at Colonel Frank Seely School. Once the LEA informs you that a place has been awarded, the school will ensure that the transition occurs painlessly.
- Visits by the Head of Year 7 and members of the team to every primary schools to meet pupils occur in May and June.
- An induction programme takes place in the Summer Term so that the pupils who are allocated a place can get to know the school. Pupils will be invited to the school induction day, Year 6, 7 and 8 disco and a targeted Summer School. When pupils arrive in September they will be met by the Head of Year 7 and the team and will take part in the induction process. All pupils will be involved in a visit to Nottingham University to share the school’s vision and mission.
- Pupils with special needs have an extended induction – working with members of the Learning Support Team from the school.
- Parents are invited to the induction evening in July to receive all the necessary information needed to ensure the transition to secondary school in smooth
