Aims

  • Promotes a sense of pride in the school;

  • Prevents pupils from coming to school in fashion clothes that could be distracting in class;
  • Makes pupils feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance and removes peer pressure;
  • Is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money;
  • Is designed with health and safety in mind.

uniform The school operates a clear policy with regard to acceptable uniform for pupils. Details of appropriate clothing are given below. If you have any difficulty in providing this clothing please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can discuss the matter. Thank you for your support. Download our Uniform Policy We ask all parents to support the school uniform policy. We believe that parents have a duty to send their children to school correctly dressed and ready for their daily schoolwork. One of the responsibilities of parents is to ensure that their child has the correct uniform, and that it is clean and in good repair.

Boys Uniform

Plain black full length trousers of a conventional material which must match the blazer material and ‘school’ style (not combat style or jeans).

Plain buttoned front white shirt, with collar of a conventional material and ‘school’ style with buttons to collar, worn tucked in trousers.

Gold/Black School clip on tie worn at the collar. The school tie should have no additions made to it or alterations made to its appearance.

Optional: Plain black ‘v’ neck long sleeved pullover with no logo or branding visible. This is to be only worn with a blazer and not instead of the school blazer.

Black blazer of a conventional material, style and length with school badge and worn with the sleeves down.

Plain conventional grey/black socks.

Plain outdoor coat of a conventional style and material e.g. not denim, leather or military.

Hooded tops are not suitable alternatives to outdoor coats and will be removed from pupil if worn.

Boys’ Shoes

Plain black leather shoes of a conventional practical and safe style.  They must have leather material covering the heel and toe. E.g. not black leather/fashion trainers, plimsolls or canvas shoes.

Girls Uniform

Plain black skirt or trousers of a conventional material and style which match the blazer and ‘School’ style.  Trousers must match the blazer material and not be combat, jean, leggings, lycra or other fashion type. Trousers must be full length and cover the ankle. Skirts must be worn at knee length.

Black tracksuit trousers.

Girls PE Kit

Black with red stripe button-up top with school logo/V-neck top black with red stripe with school logo.
Black sweatshirt or fleece top with school logo.
Plain black shorts or black shorts with red/white stripe or a black skort with red/white stripe.
Plain red football socks.
Shin Pads.
Training shoes.
Black tracksuit trousers.

No jewellery allowed in PE lessons.

Naming of Clothing

We encourage parents to name all items of clothing with sewn in name tags or indelible pen.

Jewellery and Make-up
The only allowed jewellery is: 
watch 
one plain small ring 
one pair of small, plain, metal earring studs in the lobes of pierced ears
Other facial and body piercings are not allowed and plasters and retainers will not be permitted.
Make-up must be worn very discretely.
Nail polish is not permitted.

Hair
Extremes of fashion in hair styles, including obvious colourant are not acceptable.  Inappropriate styles would include: – shaved, patterned, Mohican or dyed red for example.

Accessories
A practical sized bag is required.
Mobile phones, music players and ear phones must not be seen or heard during lessons or between lesson changeovers . (See confiscation protocols) Failure to comply will result in confiscation.
Aerosols must not be brought into school. Deodorants must be roll on/solid type. Fashion belts, scarves, hoodies etc should not be worn.
(If these items are seen the member of staff will ask the pu pil to remove the item and they will be locked away until the end of the day when they can be collected by the pupil or parent, failure to do this will result in the non-compliance procedures of the school being followed). 

REMEMBER:

  • Blazers are to be worn at all times, by boys and girls, unless the class teacher gives permission.
  • Outdoor coats should not be worn in class.
  • Shirts are to be tucked into skirts and trousers and not worn outside the clothing.
  • If an undershirt is worn it must be plain white and not visible.
  • Jumpers, sweatshirts and outdoor jackets are not to be used as an alternative to the blazer.
  • Cardigans should not be worn as an alternative to ‘v’ neck jumpers.
  • Strap tops and polo shirts should not be worn.
  • Trainers, plimsolls and canvas shoes are not permitted and a medical certificate should be provided from a doctor should this be necessary.
  • Baseball caps are not permitted in school.
  • In periods of cold weather, pupils may wear a plain black or grey hat and/or scarf when they are outside during breaks.
  • Boots are not permitted. In periods of adverse weather pupils will be advised if alternative footwear is allowed.
