Dreams of iCalverton
The ‘Dreams of iCalverton’ has been a truly inspirational project, which has seen the incredibly talented Jason Wilsher-Mills working with over 100 pupils at Colonel Frank Seely School to produce this remarkable piece of digital art.
Jason has worked with the whole community and in addition to the 60ft mural at Colonel Frank Seely School there will be Pop-up exhibitions of more than 30 artwork banners throughout Calverton during the coming weeks.
The project, which has been funded by the Arts Council, will culminate in a spectacular public celebration of the pupils’ work at Papplewick Pumping Station on Friday 22nd July. Parents, pupils and the public will be treated to a digital display of the community’s art work and performances from award winning choir, Lace City Chorus and Spritzer Dance Company.
Headteacher Jon Gale commented “Throughout the year Jason and the Art department have been working with pupils to create a unique and personal digital artwork around aspirations, created entirely using iPads. This work is a celebration of what can be created when pupils are provided with the inspiration to develop their talents. I am so proud of what the pupils have produced and their creativity will inspire future pupils. I would like to thank Jason Wilsher-Mills for his fantastic support and for sharing his talents with our pupils”.
