CFS Girls Football

Emily Bryan, ICT Technician, currently coaches the girls football team which has been running since September 2014. The team consists of Years 7, 8 and 10. Emily’s aim is to get the team as much playing experience as possible by playing tournaments, 11 a-side full games and training weekly so they can become successful.

The aim is to build the teams confidence, their bond as a whole and hopefully come away from matches with wins and trophies!

Emily has been playing football since she was 11 years old and has recently been signed by Mansfield Town Ladies Reserves FC. “I have again been called up for the first team for the next 3 games running up to Christmas. With this great club, my footballing future is bright and I intend to stay here to progress and push myself in years to come and hope to be able to pass the skills I learn here onto the girls at CFS”.

The girls played their first competitive game on 1st December 2014 at Barr Lane Community Centre in the Year 7 5-a-side South Notts tournament. They played fantastically and finished 4th overall.

This was the first time the girls had played together as a team and they did unbelievably well, coming away with an 8-0 win in one of their games.

Player of the tournament was Beth McVeigh for her fantastic hard work and determination.

Well done to everyone.
