At the beginning of December, pupils performed 2 sell out performances of the childhood classic, ‘Bugsy Malone’.
Local Primary Schools were invited to watch the final dress and technical rehearsal on Monday afternoon, before the shows on Wednesday and Thursday night.
“It really was a whole school event” reported Mrs Sloan, director of the show, “There were over 60 pupils involved in the production and they were so professional in their acting, dancing and singing. The atmosphere was electric and they have made us all very proud. I would like to thank the team of parents, staff and pupils that supported this wonderful production.”
Amy Waldron, Year 9, who played Snake Eyes said “We all loved doing the show so much and can’t wait for next year! All but 1 cast member were Year 8 or Year 9 pupils so we are all looking forward to getting involved with more performances over the next few years.” Alison Frost, parent of Coral, who played Dandy Dan in the show said “I’d like to say a massive well done to all the students who performed in the production of Bugsy Malone and helped out, it was absolutely fabulous. We were entertained all the way through -you have a lot of very talented students! They had all worked very hard and I could watch this again and again.” The pupils and staff involved celebrated their success with a ‘wrap party’ at Pizza Hut.
